Winterling Röslau Marks

Winterling Röslau, a renowned name in German porcelain, was founded in 1907 by seven Winterling brothers in the Bavarian town of Röslau, nestled in the Fichtelgebirge region.

Winterling Röslau History

The company began as Gebrüder Winterling OHG and quickly established itself as a significant player in the porcelain industry, benefiting from the region’s rich tradition and resources.
The company’s early success led to rapid expansion. In 1917, Winterling took over the Oscar Schaller porcelain factory in Schwarzenbach, marking the start of a series of acquisitions that included facilities in Kirchenlamitz and Windischeschenbach. By 1950, Winterling had transitioned into a joint-stock company (AG), consolidating its various operations under one corporate structure.
Winterling Röslau became known for its elegant tableware, especially the iconic “Indisch Blau” (straw pattern) design, which remains popular among collectors today. At its peak, Winterling was one of Germany’s largest porcelain manufacturers, employing hundreds of workers.
However, changing market conditions and internal challenges led to the company’s insolvency in 2000.
