Bay Keramik

History

Bay Keramik, founded in 1933 in Ransbach-Baumbach, Germany, became one of the most prominent producers of “Fat Lava” ceramics. Known for their innovative glazes and textured surfaces, Bay Keramik’s pieces from the 1960s and 1970s are especially prized by collectors today for their retro appeal and vivid colours.

Bay Keramik Marks

Bay Keramik used white clay for it’s production. The vases usually are clearly marked on the base with a moulded identification: two or three digits for the form, followed by a dash and the height in cm’s. Many vases also still have a Bay sticker, which makes identification very easy.
